  • No search function

I was thinking about subscribing but given that the app has no search function to look for articles on a specific topic, I won’t get a subscription. Update: I did find the search function but would like it to be placed in a more visible area. But I will reconsider getting a subscription now.
  • App is nice but print version doesn’t arrive

The app is pretty good. What I dislike, though, is the unreliable delivery of the print version. Issue arrived late by 2-3 weeks on average.
  • No more dark mode

Latest update no longer usable for reading the current magazine issue at night: for unknown reason, dark mode was removed.
  • Why does the app track me with ads? I subscribe!

I have paid for a print subscription and thought I’d try the app out. Very annoying adverts at the bottom of the screen and all data provided to google without consent. Immediately deleted- will stick to paper and the website
  • Obnoxious ads

Why, when we pay a subscription to your service, do you then have flashing ads at the bottom of EVERY page in the iPhone app. This is unacceptable, especially since they can’t be removed. I have been a long time subscriber, no longer!
  • Ads make me Unsubscribe

    von Astrojosh
I have been a happy subscriber for several years, but the recent addition of Ads in the app is completely unacceptable. These are google or Amazon ads have mostly been work related. I read mostly on the weekends and the last thing I want is to see work related Ads!! Adverts in a print magazine you can ignore, but not if they are floating in your phone or tablet display. They also obscure text. I will be unsubscribing immediately.
  • Unable to listen to music while reading

I’m unable to read and listen to music at the same time because of intrusive ads that auto-play video with sound... You wouldn’t send a marching band round while I read the magazine in print either, would you?
  • Checking for new content on load is annoying

    von protic
In the latest version of the app, nearly every time I open it, the app checks for new content and reverts to the home page. This is very annoying as I just want to pick up from where I left off. Older versions of the app did just that, I opened at the last page I was reading. Also, there seems to be an increasing number of articles under the headline of another article, and pictures in the wrong article, for example in 13th October Mystery Ancestors graphic appears in exacomputing article.
