The New Yorker app is your digital destination for in-depth reporting, political and cultural commentary, fiction, and humor from New Yorker staff writers and contributors around the world. Stay up to date. Read or listen to top stories from your favorite writers, every day. Turn on notifications so you never miss an important story or your favorite topic. Be transported. News and politics. Books and culture. Fiction and poetry. Discover rich storytelling and rigorous reporting that will sweep you away and introduce you to something new. Go about your day. When your hands are full, listen to featured stories read by world-class narrators. If you need a break, solve a crossword puzzle or Name Drop quiz, and flip through a nearly endless supply of cartoons. And, when you’re on the go, save stories to access them on any device, even offline. The app is free to download. Subscribers receive unlimited access. Most current New Yorker subscribers have unlimited access to the app as part of their existing subscription. Subscribers with a print-only subscription may not have unlimited access. App subscribers have full access to the Web site, including the archive and most recent issue. Users who have trouble accessing stories can e-mail for assistance. Non-subscribers may access the app by starting a free trial. A subscription costs $11.99 a month or $119.99 annually, and includes a 7-day free trial, after which it will automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period and will state the cost of renewal. Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when the user purchases a subscription to that publication, where applicable. Subscriptions may be managed by the user, and auto-renewal may be turned off by updating the user’s App Store Subscription settings after purchase. Payment will be charged to iTunes account at confirmation of purchase. Information about our Terms of Service & Privacy Policy can be found at

  • Good articles- annoying ads

    von ioioioio234
I enjoy reading most of the articles. What annoys me are the ads. Why do I see ads even though I pay for the subscription?
  • Serious battery drain issue

    von Noel Nickname Not Taken
This app has a serious battery drain problem. I found that just a half hour or so of usage had drained a good 25% of my battery. I had to uninstall it to keep my phone from dying. This was a disappointing experience as a brand new digital subscriber. I’d be happy to try beta versions or supply diagnostics if you’re interested in fixing this. Otherwise I have to say that I cannot use the app in its current state.
  • To American for my taste

Interesting articles but from 20 of them only 1 has real value ... the comic strips are cool dough

linking doesn’t work each time a new update. it seems the app has less attention and the web page. pls provide solid app attention.
  • The one major flaw

    von Ostend88
… is that when you interrupt reading an article and go into another app, when you want to continue the New Yorker app (i) either forgets where you left off and you must scroll down to where you were (ii) or shows a white screen and you have re-start the app. Really annoying and it’s been like this for YEARS. Also, why is there no dark mode?
  • Good but…

    von PBee1986
    …missing dark/night mode??
  • Good Paper, Lousy App

    von orchrist
It would be really nice to be able to read the articles I have paid for on my iPad, but that is not to be. Linking, at least with a European subscription, just doesn’t work. Shame on you people.
  • Exhausting

    von guna_
Just an infinite loading wheel, that never ends. In combination with the problems on their web site - exhausting!
  • Customer Support is Awful

    von BenrdJ
The very good journalism is overshadowed by a not reacting customer support. Emails are simply not answered. Being an international customer I rather prefer exchanging email conversations instead of phone calls.
  • Crossword doesn‘t save progress properly

    von AnnieD50
I love to do the crosswords on weekend mornings. but it‘s a real bummer, that the progress is sometimes lost if you switch to another app for a minute and then back. happened a few times already and it‘s a real **** in the *** especially since I bought the subscription!!
